TYCO Model Trains

online club
TYCO trains have now become part of model train history. Beginning as Tyler Manufacturing Company (hence TYCO), this company was an early manufacturer of the then-new HO scale. During the 1950s and 60s TYCO was an affordable, reliable source of family-focused model equipment.

As TYCO diversified into the larger toy market, its trains reflected this decision to focus on current children's interests. TYCO became the go-to source for fantasy trains and cars based on poular childhood story- and cartoon characters, to the delight of children and the mild disapproval of serious adult hobbyists.

If one of your happiest childhood memories was the quirky "Charlie the Starkist Tuna" freight car on your train, TYCO is still go-to. In the 1990s, International Hobby Corporation took over the distribution of discontinued TYCO train equipment when the company ceased production. TYCO equipment can also be located through nostalgia and collectibles websites.
